Counting of the nom-ers

+ Fun seder with a full house of all-around fabulous people
- Not enough room for everyone we'd like to invite
+ Awesome food all around, including homemade <18-minute matzah
- No leftover charoset or paté: must make more
+ Really good wine
++ Manischotz for the third cup totally worked!
+ Singing!
+ Acting out the plagues
+++ Chocolate toffee matzah omg
- Many things that went (or threatened to go) wrong in the final 24-hours including miscommunication, food failing, things being left on the subway, and who knows what else
++++ Everything being awesome anyway!

I wonder if we are the only twelve people in the world who can say that we had (veg & K4P, of course) Manischewitz jello shots for the third (or any) official cup of wine at a seder. Either way, that number should and will grow.

[ETA: While I may or may not have been the first to come up with the idea, Google supports that I totally just invented the word Manischotz!]

As usual, the awesomeness that happens when you and your roommie hosts seders increases every year:) Thank you again!

You are very welcome. :)

(We ate a bunch of your nummy leftovers today.)

What's the "e" and the "i"? I couldn't quite figure those two out.

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2009-04-10 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
I have no idea what this question means.

[identity profile] spwebdesign.livejournal.com 2009-04-10 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
The "C" is the Islamic crescent. The "o" is the peace symbol. The "e" has both gender symbols in it, but I don't know if it's supposed to represent some specific group/movement. The "x" is the Star of David. I have no idea what the "i" represents. The "s" is the yin and yang, which represents a number of Eastern philosophies. The "t" is the Christian cross. So, I was just wondering what the "e" and the "i" are, since I couldn't figure them out.

Oh, you meant the userpic! Why didn't you say so in the first place? :p

As far as I can tell, the "e" is just as you observe. The "i" (looking at a larger version) appears to be dotted with a mandala, presumably for Hinduism and/or Buddhism.

(I saw another version earlier where the "e" had =mc^2 under it, but it wouldn't resize legibly.)

I think Manischotz may be the best use ever for Manischewitz.
