My Holiday Wishlist

My wishlist is pretty simple since it consists of one item: donations to Tufts University in sponsorship of my marathon journey. It's even 100% tax-deductible!

Training is especially challenging right now between the natural obstacles of cold, dark, and snow, and a certain other stressor keeping me up at night. The last couple of weeks have not been great for my progress and I need to turn that around starting today. A month ago I had no doubt that I could do this but right now I'm much less sure. Asking for support when I lack the requisite confidence is terribly difficult, but I have to do it and that's part of the challenge. I can hardly express my gratitude to those who have already helped.

This is me after last week's Jingle Bell Run. Yes, that was the outfit I wore for the race (minus the medal, which we got at the finish line). As is evident by the get-up, I didn't run it for time.

So, anyway, that's my wishlist. Well, that and Dominion: Seaside.

Oh, and I have ZERO doubt about your ability to do this, because I've known you for years.

You, sweetie, are beyond awesome, y'know. :]

And I just added a photo to the above post! Which reminds me: how did the pics you took of [livejournal.com profile] amomie666 and me turn out?

It won't let me pledge without giving away too much personal info, but there is a form I can mail a check to, and I will do so tonight :) I'm sort of squeezed right now so it'll probably just be $25 this time around.

And you can totally do it!

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2009-12-22 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much. :)

Oh, and also remember to check the company matching thingie (sorry to use such technical terms) which is a convenient form to see if your employer will match contributions.

Since I work for a nonprofit I'm pretty sure they don't do this (checked anyhow, nopers). Someday I will sell out, don't worry :)

This. THIS. ThIs. THiS.

[identity profile] oneagain.livejournal.com 2009-12-22 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Er...I hate giving personal info on the web...could I possibly just hand you money? Yuu could fill it out anyway you like (without using my name)...

[identity profile] oneagain.livejournal.com 2009-12-22 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Um...um...(looks at userpic)...um...um...I seem to have lost my words. If you find them, send them back?...er...um...mrowr.

Just hit you up again. :-)

And now you HAVE to let me play Dominion:Seaside if you get it!

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2009-12-23 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
You could definitely do that. If you'd like, I'm happy to do the online transaction on my credit card in person with you and you can fill in whichever parts you'd like. (I've already donated to myself, anyway.)

Thank you. :)

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2009-12-23 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Hee, of course!

I love that you're loving the game. We should make a plan for you and the 'wabbit to come over and play. Or we could play during the day sometime, actually. Maybe next week?

Not terribly well, alas, but thanks for reminding me — I’ll mail you the one that you were semi-recognizable in when I get home.

PS — Unlike [livejournal.com profile] oneagain, I have not lost my words. And my words are all “Yum!”

Sorry I missed the run, I was working.
Even more sorry now that I see the outfit.
You do know how to present yourself appealingly, without a doubt.

What's funny is that she reacted quite similarly when I first posted it. :) (For your benefit, though it's behind a filter.)

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2009-12-23 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Ooh, are you off next week, too?

[personal profile] beowabbit 2009-12-23 02:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yup, mostly. I’m going to be going in to work some, but on no particular schedule. Would love to play some games!

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2009-12-23 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, let's take this to email for planning. :)

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2009-12-23 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
*blush* thanks. :]

Hey there!

Just wanted to followup and ask if this actually happened and if you received acknowledgment from them or anything. I'm wondering because it hasn't shown up on my donation page so before I give anyone else the go-ahead to use the mail-in form, I want to make sure it really does work.. :]

Thanks!

[identity profile] clevernonsense.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
HI, I did! And I believe they cashed the check, but I don't remember when (a while ago). I did not fill out any of my personal info on the form, however, so I don't know if that might have tripped things up.I think I actually dropped this off in the mailbox at the airport and things were hectic, so I might have not filled out much of the rest of the form either, though I thought I made sure to add your name.

[identity profile] surrealestate.livejournal.com 2010-02-02 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, I just called them to see if I could straighten things out, and they don't have you in their records. The woman I spoke to agreed that you calling would probably be better, so if you might be able to sometime soon, that'd be great. (I would imagine it'd be a quick process.) It's 1-866-351-5184.

Thanks so much. :)
