I only got through about 1/3 of the book (it was giving me nightmares), and thought they'd done an incredible job staying true to the story and the feel of the original and didn't feel slighted or lost at not having finished reading it.
Hey, do I still have that book on the top shelf in my office? Or did I wind up boxing/tossing it?
Honestly, when I had to read it for class back in college I really didn't get into it, but the graphic novel format just never did it for me for some strange reason. The story could be awesome, but I honestly don't remember anything about what it's about, I couldn't get past the format.
Sometimes when you *have* to read a book (especially on someone else's schedule), it can be harder to really enjoy it. I've never been a big graphic novel reader, but this one is just such a stand-out.
