Inspired by a couple of people who wanted the recipe, I posted to my food blog for the first time in years with the awesome Stuffed Shells that I made on Friday. I have plenty of backlog to post, too, if I can remember how I made the things I took pictures of, not to mention stuff I jotted down here but never put there.

If you want to follow along via LJ, you can do so at the [livejournal.com profile] frog_food feed.

Wow, your food blog is kind of amazing!

If you don't mind, I am going to share your food blog with my sister... who is 20 and vegan and subsists mainly on Oreos and Coke. I will also peruse it myself, and possibly make something for the next family gathering--since my family members have not quite wrapped their heads around veganism, yet.

Thank you so much, and absolutely you can share it! It's out there and public, for anyone to enjoy. :)

When I first went vegan in college and had no kitchen in the dorm, I did something similar, which prompted me to revert back to ovo-lacto, then I re-veganized once I lived in an apartment.

hurray!!

question: I plan on starting to home brew. can yeast dregs from home brewing be used in place of nutritional yeast? are there any caveats to that? (I'm assuming nutritional yeast is somewhat refined/processed or just cultured from scratch whereas brewers yeast is going to carry a lot of the character of the beer being made)

While they are nutritionally the same, they don't taste anything alike, so no, you don't want to substitute. Do a side-by-side taste test and you'll see why very quickly. :)

I might use your sour pickle recipe this year, if my cuke crop turns out well!

Cool! Yeah, it's a very easy recipe. At the least, do a small batch of the sweet slices. Nomnomnom. If you want proper pickles, though, you'll want to ferment. I hadn't yet gotten on my fermentation kick when I posted those pickle recipes, but I will do one when we get our cukes!
